Details on Painting 3

Emily (the girl with the blue-white T-shirt) and other young goggols are among the prisoners held in the mistle-infested tree of life. But they have already agreed on plan how to escape.

Dominique is kept separate from them, not in the mistle clumps.

Dominique is happy to see the fish riders come to liberate her.

By the way, I gave the rocket pilot my own face.

At the center bottom is a portrait of our dear friend Leslie as cookie jar genie. The inscription says it contains ‘liver cookies.’ That is how her husband Joe liked to call the ‘Lebkuchen’ (reminiscent of Leberkuchen) she baked at Christmastime. She followed a centuries-old original German recipe that one of her ancestors brought when immigrating to the US.

The bees are not upset about the liver cakes, but about something else, which you will easily find when exploring the painting.

By the way, while most cartoon bees have two arms and two legs, mine are anatomically more correct. They have six limbs, which is how I drew them as a kid and how I paint them now.
